How it works

  1. Choose a video — or drop it on the tool. It is opened in your browser, not uploaded.
  2. The tool reads its length and resolution and calculates the bitrate that fits the target.
  3. It re-encodes the video on your device and lowers the resolution only if needed.
  4. If the result is over the limit, it runs another pass. Download the file that fits.

Frequently asked questions

What is Discord's file size limit?

20 MB per file without Nitro, up from 10 MB in August 2026. Nitro Basic allows 50 MB and Nitro up to 1 GB. Discord says it is testing different limits, so some accounts may see more.

How do I send a long video on Discord?

Discord limits file size, not length. A long video only fits in 20 MB at a low bitrate, so trim it to the part you want to share, or upload it elsewhere and post a link.

Which video format does Discord support?

Discord lists MP4 with H.264, HEVC or AV1 video among common upload types. The tool outputs MP4 with H.264 video.
